iScope for materials science (petrographic)
The petrographic iScope is the version of the iScope series equipped for studying materials with polarised light, useful for observing minerals, metals, plastics, glass or wood. The IS.1053-PLPOLRi is the trinocular model with strain-free PLPOLRi plan objectives from 5x to S50x, a 160 mm graduated rotating stage and a Bertrand lens. It combines 3 W NeoLED Köhler transmitted illumination with 50 W halogen incident illumination, plus compensators and an iCare energy-saving sensor.

- Pair of EWF 10x/20 mm eyepieces: one EWF 10x/20 mm with crosshair reticle and the other with crosshair reticle and micrometer
- Siedentopf trinocular head with 30° inclined tubes, interpupillary distance of 48 to 76 mm and dioptre adjustment on both eyepieces
- Inverted quadruple nosepiece on ball bearings
- Strain-free PLPOLRi plan objectives for polarisation 5x/0.12, 10x/0.25, 20x/0.40 and S50x/0.65, infinity corrected (IOS)
- Optics with anti-fungus and anti-reflective coating for maximum light transmission
- Graduated circular stage, Ø 160 mm, rotating 360°, with 2 clips
- Height-adjustable condenser with graduated polariser rotating 360°
- Coaxial coarse and fine focusing: 200 divisions, 1 µm precision, 0.2 mm per revolution and a total travel of about 24 mm
- Focus stop to protect slides and objectives, with friction adjustment
- 3 W NeoLED Köhler transmitted illumination, with adjustable intensity, with internal 100-240 V power supply (CE)
- Polarisation module with 12 V 50 W halogen incident illumination, polarising filter rotating 360°, analyser, Bertrand lens, quartz wedge, 1L (first-order red) and L/4 retardation plates, and sliders with green-blue and white-polariser filters
- iCare sensor: the illumination switches off automatically when the user moves away from the microscope, saving energy
- Cable storage system (CSS) at the back
- Paint with antibacterial protective coating
- Includes mains cable, spare 500 mA 250 V fuse and dust cover, in a polystyrene box
